Please do not mark stumps on your own we have a Channel Marking Committee for that. There has been a report that someone is driving rebar into stumps. That can be very dangerous. And if you have done so please remove Rebar it's a Safety Hazard.
Please do not use Road Base Material stock piled at the first burn pile on Riley Green Rd. That is for our roads only. Thanks
A Lot Owner just reported theft from her mailbox. Please be aware. A check was stolen and she has reported this to the Sheriffs office.
Please be advised there has been an alligator spotted on the main lake. We have contacted the State Alligator Control Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife. They will take the appropriate action to deal with the alligator. We will keep you updated when we have more information.
BURN BAN LIFTED
The Robertson Co. Commissioners lifted the burn ban this morning.
The Burn Ban is still in Effect until further notice. If the Burn Ban Banners are still in place then it has not been lifted. We will inform the community as soon as we know something.
I have received several phone calls over the past two or three months from lot owners that expressed concern about the aquatic vegetation that has quickly spread in shallow areas around the lake. I reached out to Director Norm Dronen, a Fisheries & Wildlife Management Professor at A&M for information to share with our community.
Norm said the majority of what we see along the shore is "Common Pond Weed". It thrives in the warm shallows, and will be contained to the shallows. It should not spread out into the deeper water due to the lack of sunlight. He also said that it should die back during the winter months. This is not the same plant that took over the lake many years back.
If you have a need for a desk/deer stand chair we have a great deal here at the office. The Board recently purchased new conference room chairs, and we need to sell the old ones. They do show wear, but at $15., you can't beat the price.
OFFICE CLOSED ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd, IN OBSERVACNE OF THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY.
Be safe, and have a great holiday weekend.
POSSIBLE BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED:
An individual who had been seen by several lot owners driving a 90's model White Camaro, and who was video taped driving through a lot owners yard has been arrested. At this time it cannot be confirmed if he was responsible for the latest burglaries, but we are certain he was up to no good. A thank you goes out to lot owner Dominic Angonia for keeping up with this individual, and notifying the office.
LAKE LEVEL CONTINUES TO DROP, USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING OUTSIDE OF THE MARKED CHANNELS:
We have many new families who are enjoying their first summer on the lake. It is extremely important that you tell your kids and guests to be careful when driving a boat or riding jet-ski's outside of the marked channels or ski area. The lake is now 2+' low, and with that drop, dozens of stumps are now just an inch or two below the surface. YOU MUST BE CAREFULL!!! A jet-ski that strikes a stump at speed can, and has thrown riders off.
CHANNEL MARKING COMMITTEE AT WORK IDENTIFYING STUMPS:
Continuing on the above theme, the Channel Marking Committee has been out on the lake marking stumps that have been found in the boat channels as a result of the dropping lake level. They are using floating jugs of various types to identify the stumps, and are preparing a plan to remove them. Please be mindful of any floating jugs in the boat channels, and steer clear of them.
The committee has also replaced a few damaged channel markers, and will continue that effort in the coming weeks to ensure that our channels are adequately marked. That will include secondary channels like Flag Branch.
CONFERENCE ROOM CHAIRS FOR SALE CHEAP!!
The Board has purchased new conference room chairs for the board room to replace the current chairs, which are showing their age. As a result, I have been authorized to sell them for $15. each. There are only 14, and they are available on a first come basis. All of the chairs show signs of wear, but would make a great deer stand, or shop chair. It is a heck of a deal for the price. If interested, please call the office at
BOARD ANNOUNCES HIRING OF CINDY CAUBARREAUX TO FILL SECRETARY/TREASURER POSITION
Cindy is a permanent resident of Camp Creek and will begin her new job on September 4th. Our current Secretary/Treasurer, Ralph Crum will remain through October to ensure a smooth transition. For the past few years Cindy has been actively involved in the planning and organization of several company sponsored events, and she looks forward to serving our community in her new role.
Two lot owners, both on the North side have reported their homes were burglarized. Neither lot owner had been up for a few weeks, so it is difficult to determine exactly when it happened. Both burglaries were reported to the sheriff's office. Be vigilant folks, don't hesitate to call the sheriff's department if you see something, or someone that looks out of place.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
The Camp Creek Water Co. mailing address has changed. All USPS mail should be addressed to:

LAKE LEVEL DROPPING QUICKLY
With the 100 degree temps and no rain, the lake level is dropping. As has been mentioned in previous communications, the lake is full of stumps. Within the past two weeks many have broken the surface of the water, and many more lie just below the surface. Please use caution while operating a boat/jet-ski, especially outside of the designated boat channels and ski area.
Although there is no rule prohibiting riding a jet-ski outside of the designated ski area, you are at a much greater risk of striking a stump just below the surface as the lake continues to drop.
We have received reports of boaters striking stumps in the main boat channel. As a result, our on duty patrolman will be on the lake this week finding, and marking stumps. This will include not only the channel that runs the length of the lake, but also Cobb & Flag Branches. Plastic bottles will be used to mark the stumps for our Channel Marking Committee, who are in the process of planning the removal of those stumps.
WATCH YOUR PROPERTY:
This past weekend a lot owner with a live feed security camera observed two individuals pull up in a pick-up late in the evening, get out with flashlights, and proceed to walk all around their lot shining those flashlights in their windows and around the lot. The sheriff's department was called as was our patrolman. Fortunately, nothing was taken or disturbed. Our patrolmen travel all of our roads, but obviously can't be everywhere all the time. If you find evidence of burglary or vandalism, please call the sheriff's department first, followed by a call to our patrolman. Their contact numbers are:
Sheriff's Department: 979-828-3299
Lake Patrolman: Cell 979-828-8064
(Refrigerator magnets with the above contact info available at the office).
FIREWORKS & BURN BANS
At present we do not have a rule that specifies when you can, and cannot shoot off fireworks. Obviously, common sense is warranted at any time, but if you elect to shoot them off during a burn ban, be aware that you are breaking the law. Recently a family did just that. The lake patrolman on duty and I received multiple calls from concerned lot owners who knew we were under a burn ban. The difference here, is the family towed a barge out into the middle of the lake to shoot them off, thinking it would be safe.
However that does not negate the fact that: Shooting fireworks while a burn ban is in place is against the law. Had a concerned neighbor called the sheriff's office, and a dispatched deputy observed them shooting fireworks, they would have been fined $250. It doesn't matter that they were in the middle of the lake.
BURN BAN IN EFFECT
The Robertson Co. Commissioners implemented a burn ban in Robertson Co.
at 4:00 P.M this afternoon. No burning is allowed until the ban is lifted.
Several of the burn piles are still smoldering. Please use caution when hauling burnable material to one of the burn piles.
The Boat Parade is this coming Saturday, July 7th, and festivities begin at 2:00 P.M. at the recreation area. If you plan to enter the parade, meet in the vicinity of Lot 391 at 2:00. Our Lake Patrolman will escort the participants to the rec area.
As you enjoy the upcoming 4th of July Holiday, please be careful. Have a water source nearby if you plan to shoot fireworks, and remember with the lake level dropping, more and more stumps are above the surface, or just below. Have a safe and happy 4th of July
The Camp Creek office will be closed on Wednesday July 4th, in observance of the Holiday.
This past weekend a serious accident occurred in the ski area which resulted in 2 individuals being life flighted to an area hospital. Both are currently in the ICU at St. Josephs Hospital. We will continue to monitor their recovery, and provide updates on this website.
BURN BAN NOT IMPLEMENTED
The Commissioner's did not implement a burn ban, so burning is still allowed. BUT, please be careful. The rain we received on Wednesday, (approx. 1") will quickly evaporate from the soil and dry conditions will return.
PATROLMEN HAVE A NEW CELL PHONE
The lake patrolman cell phone is back on line. The number is still the same. The old one accidentally went swimming.
Please be advised:
Our Lake Patrolman is temporarily without a cell phone. If you need to speak to the patrolman, please call the patrolman's landline; 979-828-3860. I will provide an update once he has a new cell phone.
Today the Office is Closed from 12-4:30pm and Tomorrow the Office will be Closed. If you need anything I can be reached by phone
(979) 229-1299 Or please call the
The Office will be CLOSED Dec. 21, 24 and 25
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!
The Wildlife Committee has informed me that 3 small alligators have been safely relocated to the Navasota River. Just wanted to give everyone an update. Please be aware and keep watch no matter what, if you do see one please contact me at the office (979) 828-2907
NO BURN BAN YET, BUT....
Robertson Co. is currently not under a burn ban, but that will change next week unless we receive adequate rain fall as expected this weekend. Robertson Co. Commissioners are expected to implement the ban by Wednesday, 6/20.
BURN PILES ON CLYDE ACORD RD. ARE CLOSED!
As I have written previously, we are fortunate to have several locations around the lake that we as lot owners can take burnable, natural debris from our lots to dispose of. This includes obvious things such as trees, tree limbs, leaves, grass, and boards (with no nails, screws or bolts). Under no circumstances should metals, plastics, concrete, carpet, vinyl flooring etc. be dumped at any of the locations. Anyone observed dumping inappropriate debris will be subject to possible fines as determined by the BoD.
Lastly, the burn piles can only handle so much burnable material before the risk of a fire getting out of control exceeds our ability to manage it. Please use common sense when dropping debris off at a burn pile. Do not overload a burn pile. If you have a significant amount of debris, split it up and take it to a different site.
The Camp Creek Boat Parade will be held on
Saturday, July 7th with the festivities beginning at 2:00 P.M.
Judging begins at 2:30, followed by free hotdogs for all after the trophy presentation. As in years past, there will be musical entertainment, and a bounce house for the kids. It is a great family event, and a unique part of Camp Creek history!! Hope to see you there.
BASS TOURNAMENT REGISTRTION REMINDER
Please remember that registration for Bass Tournament participants is tomorrow afternoon from 5:00 - 7:30 P.M. at the recreation area. All of the great raffle prizes donated by our generous lot owners will be there as well. Raffle tickets will also be on sale. Even if you don't fish in the tournament, come down and toss a raffle ticket or two in the bucket for a chance to win one of several nice items.
With Spring in full swing and Summer just around the corner, our little lake is beginning to buzz again with activity. We also have several new families preparing for their first Summer at Camp Creek. Combine all of the above with several new homes currently under construction, and we find many folks who are unfamiliar with our rules. Let me take just a moment to touch on some issues our patrolmen are seeing as a result of all the new activity around the lake.
Recently, quite a few contractors have been observed fishing all over the lake. Often claiming to have been given permission to do so by the lot owner they are working for. Upon follow-up by our patrolmen, that isn't always the case. A contractor or guest may fish in our lake under the following conditions.
1.) He/she may fish from the lot owners boat dock or shore line in front of the lot IF the lot owner is present. If the lot owner is not present, all contractors/guests must be in possession of a daily guest pass and be prepared to present it when asked by a patrolman or lot owner.
2.) Contractors and guests wishing to fish or use Camp Creek property other than the lot owners they are working for or visiting, must be accompied by the lot owner or have a daily guest permit in their possession.
Please remember, the lot owner is responsible for his/her contractors/guests.
HAVING FUN ON YOUR NEW JET-SKI
You have just purchased a new jet-ski, you have properly registered it with me, displaying both a registration sticker and your lot numbers on both sides of the glimmering new machine. You are ready to hit the lake!!!
Before you do, please remember to put on that life jacket, it is mandatory. If observed Not wearing one, it is an automatic $250. fine.
In case you didn't know; Camp Creek Lake is full of stumps, hundreds of them, many are just below the surface. As you streak across the lake having a blast, PLEASE be mindful of all those stumps lurking just below the surface. The Board urges you to use caution when riding a jet-ski outside of the marked channels and ski area.
CAMP CREEK OFFICE HOURS ARE CHANGING
NEW OFFICE HOURS:
MONDAY & TUESDAY 8:00 - 4:30
THURSDAY & FRIDAY 8:00 - 4:30
Since the office first opened here at the lake five years ago, we have been open Monday - Friday from 8:00 - 4:30. During that time this job has evolved to include much more interaction as an example, with our lot owners who frequently stop by for assistance, Ask for a site visit for a building project, pay their dues, register a boat etc. Having the office here at the lake is a really good thing for our community as it allows a coordination point for so many things. But it also presents the challenge of having enough time to take care of the significant amount of paper work and data entry that takes place routinely. To address that, the office will be closed on Wednesdays. You may leave a voicemail or send an email, and I will return the call or respond to the email on Thursdays.
The Annual Bass and Kid Fish Tournament dates are approaching. The entry forms are available for download from the home page. (Go to the bottom of the page, and click on the appropriate Blue button).

The refrigerator magnets will have the patrolman's, the Camp Creek office, and Sheriff's department phone numbers on them. They will be available here at the office and at the Annual Meeting. Also, if you prefer, you can download both the annual application and updated rules from the homepage of this website. As an FYI, individual lot owner names are not included in the online version.
